Good things come to those who wait?

Way back in October we found out that Luke's Design Center would be closing and that he would either need to relocate to Canada, or he would be laid off. We knew right away that we didn't want to relocate to Canada so we were presented with a couple of options: try to get a transfer to the Switzerland office, or try to find another job. Moving to Switzerland was our first choice but it didn't look likely that it would happen. So over the next few months Luke tried to find a job. Then all the sudden, Switzerland was back on the grid and Luke had a couple of interviews and then we heard nothing for a while. So he resumed looking for work here in Colorado. Then Switzerland popped into our lives again and this time we were told Luke would be getting an offer and he even worked out a relocation package with someone in HR. Two weeks later, we haven't heard anything.

Needless to say we have been living in a state of limbo since October. It is an awful place to be because you are at a crossroads but you can't move because you don't know which road to take. Then all the ups and downs that come with job hunting and Switzerland popping on and off the grid has led to a stressful few months. It is funny to see how Luke and I handle this period of our life. Luke is of the opinion that he doesn't want to do anything until our future is certain. So he has been keeping himself occupied by watch moving and playing games. I, on the other hand, want to get a head start. This will be the 3rd time we've moved in the past 3 years and if I've learned anything it's that you never have enough time to pack up a household. So I've already started selling off our stuff. Of course, if Switzerland doesn't go through we won't have some of our furniture but it doesn't really bother me because I'm only selling the stuff we don't really like anyways.

But for now all we can do is wait...

and hope something good comes from it.
