No place to call home

We have been vagabonds for over a month now. Drifting from hotel to hotel, room to room with out being in the same place for more than a week. It's getting really old. Especially here in Switzerland where we are spending a small fortune feeding ourselves. We have even discussed just skipping lunch altogether to try to save money. Each meal here is at least $40-50 ... and that is for "cheap" food (i.e. crepes, kababs, pizza). We are dreaming of the day when we will have a kitchen again.

On that note, these last few weeks in Switzerland we have been apartment hunting. It's been a frustrating experience as there is not much available and we have found that what is available (apartments in large buildings) we don't like. We are trying to find something like a duplex or 4-plex in a quiet area. Then, early last week I found it! Our perfect place. I fell in love. They told us it was available and that we should have no problem getting it. We sent in our application, then we got an email saying it was already taken. Both Luke and I were ready to throw in the towel at that point. I haven't been that depressed in a long time. Now we are back at square one and there is no telling if/when we will find a place.

Here is a picture of what could have been. A view from the balcony over the backyard next to the channel.
Time to move on...

We moved rooms this week. Now we are in (what we call) the Penthouse suite. We're at the top of the hotel and even though it's just one room, it's pretty awesome.
Our shower is also a sauna
The bath is insane. We have yet to use it without flooding the bathroom. Water squirts out of all these holes and if the bathtub is not full, the water will squirt all over the bathroom flooding it and soaking everything! Has happened at least 4 times now...
We found our favorite restaurant outside of Neuchatel. Not sure what it's called, but it is a gas station that serves food. The food is awesome, "cheap" (by Switzerland standards) and we know the people now so they give us free refills of beer and drinks SCORE! Here we are eating their specialty, Fondue.
Jack playing in the water near our hotel
Ice cream is a regular part of our diet now
Love going to the German speaking areas. Always makes for a good laugh.
