Favorite Things: Knöpfli and Spätzli

Our weekly menu typically includes a dish of either knöpfli or spätzli. I'm not really sure how to pronounce them, but there are delicious little dumplings.

Knöpfli are like little buttons. They are made from some really thick dough that has been boiled. Then, you fry them with some butter (I like mine crispy) and eat them as is, or top them with cheese to make the Swiss version of mac & cheese.

Spätzli's are essentially the same thing, just a different shape.
Both are equally delicious and so very tasty.
